In Bible versus Quran: Shave the head of the Captive Woman and Trim her Nails
This is the tenth article of the series: “The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran”
In the previous articles, we have seen that in Language, the “foreign” woman is the alien or the exotic or the outsider woman. However, the Bible has another view.
As confirmed by the Bible, the “foreign” woman is the non-Israelite woman or the non-Jewish woman.
As a result, any non-Israelite or any non-Jewish woman is a “foreign” woman.
This indicates that the women in the Bible are but one of two categories; they are either Legitimate (genuine) or Foreign (strange).
In the previous two articles of this series (8-9), we discussed the Biblical concept and policy of treating the foreign women in war.
In the Bible, the Lord God recommends killing every woman who has slept with a man; but capturing and saving (for you) every girl who has never slept with a man. Also, the Lord God recommends Killing the men and women, children, infants and suckling, cattle, sheep, camels and donkeys etc.
In the present article, we will discuss the Biblical policy of dealing with and treating the foreign women: 1) Shortly after the war is done and 2) At time of peace.
(1) How to deal with the foreign women shortly after the war is done
How to deal with the captive foreign women?
1. You can marry a Beautiful Captive Woman
The Bible says: When you go to war against your enemies and the Lord your God delivers them into your hands and you take captives, if you notice among the captives a beautiful woman and are attracted to her, you may take her as your wife.
2. but, first, Shave her head and Trim her Nails
The Bible says: Bring the Captive Woman into your home and have her shave her head and trim her nails
3. Before marrying her, let her Mourn for a Full Month
The Bible says: And put aside the clothes she (the Captive Woman) was wearing when captured. After she has lived in your house and mourned her father and mother for a full month, then you may go to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife.
4. And do not sell her since you have dishonored her
The Bible says: If you are not pleased with her (your wife), let her go wherever she wishes. You must not sell her or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her.
However, there are three outcomes of marrying foreign women.
If you marry foreign women then you will:
A. Do evil in the eyes of the Lord,
B. Forget the Lord and
C. Serve and worship idols
1. The Bible says: And the sons of Israel have dwelt in the midst of the Canaanite, the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and take their daughters to them for wives, and their daughters have given to their sons, and they serve their gods; and the sons of Israel 1) did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, 2) forgot Jehovah their God and 3) served the Baalim and the Asheroth.
2. Also, He married Jezebel (foreign woman) and served and worshipped idol
The Bible says: He (Ahab son of Omri) not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal (an idol) and worship it.

(2) How to deal with a foreign woman at time of peace?
1. Play the harlot with her, commit adultery with her
The Bible says: While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality (play the harlot) with the daughters of Moab:
2. Reproach her and all her neighbors all that are round about her
The Bible says: before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, that do despite unto thee round about.
3. Make her like a fluttering bird pushed from the nest
The Bible says: Like fluttering birds, wandering birds pushed from the nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.
4. Do not let her rejoice and/or take pride
The Bible says: Tell it not in Gath; publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised exult.
An important question about the lamentation that should be taught to the people
The Bible says that David lamented with “this lamentation” over Saul and Jonathan his son, and he said it should be taught to the people of Judah.
In David’s Lament for Saul and Jonathan, King David said: behold, it is written in the book of Jashar.
But where is the book of Jashar? Why it is missed? Why it does not present among the Biblical books? Is that because the book of Jashar contains many frank prophecies about the Prophet Muhammad?

How to deal with the foreign woman in the Quran and Hadith?
The term “foreign woman” is not mentioned therein in the entire Quran; all women are equal in connection with their rights and responsibilities apart from their race, color, location etc.
On the other hand, the following names of persons and/or places are not mentioned therein in the entire Quran:
1. The Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites the Jebusites, Baalim, and Asheroth.
2. Ahab, Omri, Jeroboam, Nebat, Jezebel, Ethbaal, the Sidonians, Shittim, Moab, Syria and Philistines
3. Arnon, Gath, Ashkelon, Philistines, Saul, Jonathan and Jashar.
Moreover, the captives beautiful woman, shave her head and trim her nails, and her full month mourn is not present therein in the whole Quran.
In addition, the Bible says: “since you have dishonored her (your wife)”.
Nevertheless, in narrated Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad says:
“The best of you is the best to his wife (not to dishonor her)”.

12Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
13And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
14And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled (humiliated) her.

20Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
